Update: Village Head abducted in Ibadan, wife regain freedom

Baale of Araromi, Chief Tafa Apapan and his wife have regained freedom from the den of kidnappers.

NewsWireNGR had reported that Baale Apanpa and his wife were kidnapped in his house at Araromi in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State on Tuesday night by unknown gunmen.

NewsWireNGR learnt from multiple sources that the traditional ruler and his wife were released on Thursday night.

A close source, who pleaded anonymity while speaking with Daily Independent was, however, silent on payment of ransom for the abducted Baale and his wife before they were released. While other sources said they paid N2 miliion as ransom.

Their release was also confirmed by the the Chairman, Ido local government, Mr Sheriff Attack in a report by an Oyo-focused publication, Inside Oyo.

Adeojo had earlier assured the people of the community that the government will do everything possible to secure the release of their leader unhurt.
