Just in: A Suicide bomber has blown himself up in Ebonyi

A suicide bomber has reportedly blown himself to pieces in Ebonyi State

The unfortunate incident happened opposite the popular Eke Market, Afikpo, in the Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

NewsWireNGR learnt from multiple sources that it happened around 10am on Tuesday.

Quoting an eyewitness, The Nation reported, “He attempted to go into Amaizu/Amangballa Primary School but was turned back by the school security as he couldn’t justify his reasons for visiting. He immediately ran into a nearby bush before a big bang was heard.”

The source said residents scampered for safety when the bomb exploded but reconvened at the scene of the incident a few minutes after only to discover the suspected suicide bomber laying dead in a pool of his own blood.

The bomber’s upper body part was destroyed from the impact of the bomb. The State commissioner for Internal Security, Stanley Okoro confirmed the incident.
