Breaking: Military plane crash in Kaduna State – top military chiefs onboard

A military plane is feared to have crashed in Kaduna State, multiple sources confirm to NewsWireNGR on Friday.

The training aircraft crashed at the Kaduna international airport.  The Ill-fated aircraft was said to have crashed at the airport’s runway

The incident was said to have occurred at about 6 pm while it was raining heavily. The plane was said to have crash-landed on the runway, with the eight people on board feared dead.

Details of the manifest is yet to be announced but sources say senior chiefs and officials of the Nigerian Military were onboard the ill-fated plane.

This is the third crash of the Nigerian Air-force aircraft within the last three months. In the meantime, the Nigerian Airforce confirms the news that “An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained”

According to the statement issued by Edward Gabkwet Air Commodore Director of Public Relations and Information 21/5/21 – more details to follow soon.

Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria, Akin Olateru, confirmed that the eight souls died onboard.

“Beachcraft 350. 8 souls on board. Unfortunately all dead,” Olateru wrote in a WhatsApp note to newsmen.
