Miyetti Allah in Oyo State wants the Seriki Fulani removed

Miyyeti Allah in Oyo State has asked the State Government and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi to dethrone the embattled Seriki Fulani of Oyo State, Chief Saliu Kadiri as Seriki Fulani of the state.

The group said the allegations against the embattled Seriki Fulani in the state were affecting the good name of the Fulani community in Oyo State.

While speaking with journalists at the end of a meeting organised to discuss issues affecting the Fulani community in the State, the immediate past Chairman of Miyyeti Allah, Alhaj Yakubu Bello Modibo, said their actions were as a result of various allegations levelled against the embattled former Seriki Fulani.

He said: “Our actions was as a result of various allegations levelled against Seriki Fulani in Oyo state. You are aware he was allegedly involved in kidnapping, Banditry an armedrobberry. This has affected our image.”

“It has affected good reputation of many of us living peacefully in the state. We have to bring back our good name in Oyo state, therefore, we must not allow such people to lead us.”

“We vehimently condemned those derogatory statement against our people and we can no longer accept it,” he said.

The group asked the Alaafin of Oyo and the state government to replace him with a trusted, tested and integrity personality among Fulani community.

While Reacting to the allegations, the Seriki Fulani, Chief Saliu Kadiri said the Alaafin of Oyo State should ignore them, and that he still serves as Seriki.

“I am still around in the state. We all know that the allegations were mere fallacies. They are only finding a way to destroy the name of Alaafin. Those people supported Igboho to destroy my hard earned name,” he said.

Recall that Chief Saliu Kadiri was recently chased out of his Igangan residence by some aggrieved youths led by a Yoruba self-acclaimed activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho following his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and other unholy activities in the area.
