Just In: Boko Haram attack new IGP’s hometown in Yobe

Geidam Local Government is currently under attack by Boko Haram terrorists. Residents who spoke with TVC News Yobe Correspondent said the insurgents stormed the town in large number and started shooting sporadically.

Geidam is the hometown of the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

NewsWireNGR gathered that a Nigerian Air Force jet has been deployed to the town to dislodge the attackers.

Details of the attack are still sketchy as people are indoors for their safety.

The police spokesperson in the state, Dungus Abdulkarim, said ”he needed to get across to his people on ground in Geidam” before responding to press inquiries.
