Gumi meets with masterminds of Kagara abduction

Renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi on Thursday met with terrorists who masterminded the abduction of 42 students and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State.
The gunmen shot one dead during the Wednesday morning attack.
Gumi met with the gun-wielding bandits as they are called in some quarters at the Tagina forest in Niger State that links with Birnin Gwari forest in Kaduna Northwest.
He pleaded with the bandit leader, Dogo Gide to surrender their arms and give peace a chance.
The cleric has been at the forefront demanding amnesty for the bandits who are largely herdsmen. He said they learnt the atrocious acts from Niger Delta militants and are also victims of oppression who had to pick up arms to survive.
