Kaduna State will not negotiate with terrorists – Nasir El -Rufai

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said he will not negotiate or dialogue with notorious bandits terrorising the state.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, the governor said it confidently that he does not support the carrot approach advised by Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi and Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle.

He also called on the Federal Government to give states air and ground forces to fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal menace.

“If the Federal Government does not give us the air and ground forces, these forests are invaded and these terrorists are killed at the same time, then we will continue to be in trouble,” he said.

“We in Kaduna are cooperating with Niger State. The governor of the state calls from time to time to gather information. We are doing things with them.”

Kaduna State and other states in the northeast have been plagued by incessant attacks by bandits in the community that have left many people dead.

The attacks have continued despite the heavy deployment of security operatives including soldiers to the states.
