Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has tested negative to COVID-19 and is now out of isolation.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile on Thursday.

“Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu tests negative for COVID-19. Now out of isolation,” Akosile wrote on Twitter.

Recall that on December 12, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr Akin Abayomi, announced that Sanwo-Olu tested positive for COVID-19.The governor immediately went into isolation

Sanwo-Olu’s infection is one of the increasing cases of COVID-19. And to curtail the spread, the Governor last Friday imposed some restriction order.

In the statement, the governor said Lagosians have become reckless and now disregard COVID-19 safety protocols, an act that can jeopardise the health of the citizenry.

The directive ordered all public and private schools below tertiary level in the state to vacate schools with immediate effect.

It also said all public servants from GL 14 and below, except emergency workers and first responders, are to work from home as from Monday, December 21st for the next 14 days – in the first instance.

The statement further said all concerts, carnivals and street parties are banned in Lagos State until further notice.

Also, it said Night Clubs have not been allowed to open yet, therefore all Night Clubs in Lagos must immediately shut down, until further notice.
