COVID-19: Kaduna State announces date for school closure

The Kaduna State Government has ordered state schools to complete their examination by Wednesday, December 16, 2020.

The directive was issued Tuesday, as the state and the country experiences an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases..

In a statement issued by the state’s education ministry bearing the signature of the state commissioner of education, Shehu Usman Muhammad, classroom activities in secondary schools, universities and colleges in the state will be suspended. But when required, schools should look for other teaching methods that include teaching online or using the state television and radio as it is used to teach in the past.

It then urged everyone to keep wearing facemasks, observing physical distancing and follow all guidelines of COVID-19 prevention. 

Kaduna has recorded 2,778 cases of COVID-19 and 45 deaths from the virus.
