Amidst concerns about the whereabouts of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad, a member of the Supreme Court, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa has revealed that the CJN has tested positive for COVID-19 and is receiving treatment in Dubai.
Saulawa disclosed this at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
This news is off the heels of the absence of the CJN at the swearing-in of 72 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria on Monday.
The CJN was represented by the next most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour who administered oaths to the new SANs.
A total of 73,374 cases of COVID-19 has been recorded in the country with 66,314 recoveries and 1,197 deaths.
