Kadaria Ahmed, a Journalist and media entrepreneur from northern Nigeria has described elites from the region as a woeful and disgraceful failure.
Ahmed who grew up in Zamfara State was speaking off the heels of the Saturday kidnap of 600 students at a boarding house in Kankara, Katsina State and the rising insurgency in Northern Nigeria.
Through a tweet embedded with the hashtags KankaraStudents #Securethenorth #SecureNigeria, Ahmed called out the Northern elites and told them to own up to their failures and begin to find an answer to insecurity.
“Northern elites, let us raise our hands up and admit that we are a woeful, disgraceful failure. Let us own up and maybe acceptance can enable us begin to find an answer. #KankaraStudents #Securethenorth #SecureNigeria”
Recall that NewsWireNGRhad earlier reported that Armed men stormed Government Science Secondary School in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, northwest Nigeria, and kidnapped dozens of students from their dormitories early today, Saturday.
The Motorcycle-riding armed bandits operating out of abandoned forest reserves are the latest to join Nigeria’s lucrative kidnap for ransom industry, and are quite brazen in their operations.
The borders are porous and the vast forest reserves in the border regions have been turned into operational bases for the bandits.
