Nominations the 14th Headies Award is out, Check out the complete list

Nominations have been rolled out for the 14th edition of the next Headies award.

Despite its low rating in recent times, the Headies award is still adjudged as the best award ceremony in Nigeria.

The Headies nominations are based on musical projects between July 2019 – September 2020.

This years’ nomination has reflected the competitiveness of the music industry and no matter who becomes the winner in a category, the fans of other nominees could feel their favourite should have bagged the award.

In the Best song of the year category, Fem by Davido locks horn with NOBODY – DJ NEPTUNE FEAT. JOEBOY & MR. EAZI, Joro – Wizkid, Mafo – Naira Marley and Duduke – Simi.

The next rated category is also one to look out for as the four nominees (Tems, Oxlade, Omah lay and Bella Shmurda) had a stellar breakout year. Tems can stake her claim with her with great singles like Damages, Try me that won her a feature in Wizkid’s well-recognised Made in Lagos album.

23-year-old Omah Lay took the whole industry and himself by surprise with the force of his sonorous voice and his Get layd EP that featured delightful songs like Bad Influence, I love you, Damn. Before the year, Omah Lay was just another Port-Harcourt boy making music but today, he is a favourite of music lovers.

Oxlade has simply made most music fans surrender their ears whenever they come across his infectious, signature Afro-fusion sound. His music project involves Away, Sour, collaboration with Blaqbones, Fireboy and a six track EP.

Bella Shmurda became the latest sensation from the streets after he released Vision 2020 in 2019. He has since followed it with tracks like Dangbana Orisa, Sho mo mi, Only you, Cashapp, and features with Olamide and Davido.

Eedris Abdulkareem and Timaya will get a special recognition for their excellence and outstanding impact to the entertainment industry.

King Sunny Ade will get inducted in the Headies Hall of fame as a special recognition for excellence and outstanding impact to the entertainment industry.
