The Nigeria Police Force has refused to release EndSARS protester, Eromosele Adene despite his family perfecting his bail conditions.

Eromosele Adene, a 27-year-old musician and philanthropist, was arrested in his home on November 7, for allegedly inciting the public against the government due to his involvement in the recent EndSARS

In October, thousands of Nigerians marched in Lagos and other cities to demand an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, or SARS, a police unit accused of extrajudicial killings and abuses through the EndSARS

The government announced the unit had been disbanded, but many Nigerians are skeptical, as officials have promised an end to the unit and its alleged abuses before.

Eromo was transferred from Lagos to Abuja for interrogation before he was returned to Lagos on Sunday night to be arraigned at the Yaba Magistrate Court.

The Court Magistrate,  Folarin Williams, granted Eromo bail with the condition to pay 1 Million Naira and two sureties.

However, despite meeting the bail conditions, the family on Wednesday said the Police have defied the court order and continued to detain him illegally and take him to an unknown place.

The family told Sahara Reporters, “We are waiting to see the game they are playing.

“His bail condition has been perfected but they are not releasing him.”
