In fresh attack, Bandits kill Katsina village head, Alhaji Dikko Usman

Bandits, early Saturday morning, murdered the village head of Mazoji, Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, Alhaji Dikko Usman.

The Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on security, Ibrahim Katsina, however, told newsmen that the government was doing everything possible to tackle the problem of banditry in the state.

Punch Newspaper reports that bandits stormed Mazoji village in large numbers on motorcycles, armed with weapons late Friday night, and operated till early Saturday morning when the village head was killed.

Some residents of the village were also said to have been injured during the attack.

It was also learnt that the bandits rustled animals.

Katsina said, “The incident is rather unfortunate. We are doing everything possible in conjunction with security operatives to tackle the problem of banditry and other crimes in the state and very soon the problem of banditry will be a thing of the past in the state.
