“I’m deeply shocked at Boko Haram Killings” – President Buhari

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the recent killings by Boko Haram in Borno state left him “deeply shocked”.

Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, who made this known on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, quoted the President as saying “the primordial nature of the killings is particularly shocking because it happened not long after the Ramadhan and Eid, and the country is preparing to celebrate the Democracy Day.”

Shehu said the president condemned the attack and charged the armed forces to rescue victims who were kidnapped by the terrorists and “as well as the large number of cattle rustled”.

“In condemning the incident, President Buhari charged the armed forces to sustain their recent string of successes against the terrorists to extract a heavy price from the attackers, and bring back all those they kidnapped as well as the large number of cattle rustled.” part of the statement read.

Recall that NewsWireNGR reported two attacks by the terrorists on Tuesday in Gubio LGA. The latest was took place in Felo village, where 81 bodies were buried, the previous one was in Foduma Kolomiya village where 69 people were killed.

NewsWireNGR also reported that the members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, urged the President to quickly take action to avert the rising cases of attacks by bandits and Boko haram terrorists ravaging states across the northwest, north central and north east.

The lawmaker representing Buhari’s constituency, Hon. Muhammd Fatuhu had warned that Nigeria looks similar to war ravaged countries like Syria and Libya at the start of their crises.
