President Buhari has condemned the wave of attacks and counterattacks on people among the Fulani and Addara communities in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State.

15 people were killed at Gonan Rogo village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Chairman of Kajuru Local Government, Cafra Caino told journalists that the gunmen stormed the village while the residents had gone to bed and started shooting sporadically at their houses.

He said the assailants shot 15 of the villagers to death in the process, five others sustained various injuries.

Confirming the incident, Police said they received a distress call from DPO Kajuru that a group of armed men on motorbikes invaded the community at about 1am on Tuesday.

The President, who reacted to the recent bouts of attacks and counter-attacks reported on Tuesday, said: “Killing people in the name of revenge is not acceptable.”

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Garba Sheu, the president said the recourse to self-help instead of the law of the land was the real cause of the killings and counter killings between the two communities.
