APC Wins House of reps Re-run in Cross River State, John Gaul defeated

The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Alex Egbona has defeated the former speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Barr. John Gaul Lebo and member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to emerge representative of the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the Greenn Chamber of the National Assembly.

The APC candidate pulled Twenty Nine thousand, seven hundred and sixteen (29,716) votes after the final tabulation of results from Ekureku 1 and 2 where the rerun held.

His closest rival and candidate of the PDP scored a total of Twenty six thousand, thirty nine (26,039) votes.

Dr. Egbonna was declared winner and returned to the House of Representatives by the Cross River State Resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Alalibo Johnson, after securing the highest votes in the election.
