The (EFCC) uncovered the stash of foreign currencies and Naira notes in two of the four bedrooms in the apartment in Lagos city after receiving confidential information from a whistle blower.
The EFCC quoted another source conversant with the apartment saying that a woman usually appeared on different occasions with ‘Ghana Must Go’ bags.
“She comes looking haggard, with dirty clothes but her skin didn’t quite match her outward appearance, perhaps a disguise”, the source said, according to the EFCC.
‘On getting to the building, operatives met the entrance door locked. Inquiries from the guards at the gate explained that nobody resides in the apartment, but some persons come in and out once in a while.” the source said
The Federal Government of Nigeria has said that any whistleblower, whose information led to the recovery of cash or assets worth N5 billion, will get a 2.5 per cent reward.
