Scores Killed As Explosion Rocks University of Maiduguri, Professor Killed

A bomb explosion has occurred in a mosque at the University of Maiduguri in Nigeria’s troubled northeastern state of Borno.

Eyewitnesses accounts say that an explosion rocked the university during early morning while some students and staff of the university were observing prayer at 6:30 am. Security forces have been mobilized to the scene of the attack.

Sources said several persons have been killed, but there is no official confirmation of casualties but the commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu has mobilized officers to the scene for on the spot assessment of the situation..

Another Source tells NewsWireNGR, that the first explosion went off at a car park and the second at the UNIMAID Mosque and one of the Professors of the University is said to have died as a result…

Our source says Prof. M Aliyu Mani is said to have died but we are yet to independently comfirm . Professor Mani is Director of the UNIMAID Vet. Services, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
