Firm Belonging To SGF Awarded Contract To Clear Grass In IDP camp, Senate Orders HimTo Resign

Firm allegedly belonging to Secretary to the Government of the Federation awarded contract to clear grass in Camp internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp Senate report investigating diversion of billions says.
The senate has asked Babachir Lawal, secretary to the government of the federation, to immediately resign from office.
The upper legislative chamber took this decision following the indictment of Lawal by a committee that investigated corruption in the management of funds for internally displaced persons in the northeast.

Senate Leader Ali Ndume points out that humanitarian funds as much as $417Million has been sent to the North East yet no sign of such funds.
Senate also approves the recommendation that any Government Official found culpable of sharp practices be suspended and prosecuted.
Senator Baba Kaka Garbai raises an additonal prayer that David Babachir Lawal should immediately resign as SGF & be prosecuted accordingly.
Senator Ahmed Sani seconds the additional prayer. Senate President put it to Vote and the Yays have it that SGF Babachir Lawal resign.
