The Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, has announced the removal of its national chairman, Bashir Yusuf, for gross misconduct.

Sacked alongside the chairman are all other national officers of the party.

The party immediately set up a technical committee headed by Munir Garba to run its affairs for three months after which new principal officers would be elected at a national convention.

“NEC has further directed the National caretaker committee to petition the office of the inspector-general of police to commence investigation into the conduct of the dissolved national chairman of the party, in the person of Bashir Yusuf” the communique reads.

“NEC has dissolved all the national principal officers of the party currently occupying office for their compromise on the oath they subscribed to promote the party”.

The sack is a fallout of a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the party which held in Abuja on Thursday.

PDM is made up of loyalists of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a chieftain of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC.
