Battle Over Guber Candidate: Ritualists Take Over Ondo APC Secretariat [PHOTOS]

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo state took another dimension early Monday morning as unknown ritualists locked up the state party secretariat located at Oyemekun road in Akure.

Factions of the party have been trading blames over imposition of Governorship candidate ahead of the election..

Crisis started the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was alleged to have to impose one of the governorship aspirants in the party, Mr. Segun Abraham, as the party candidate.

They also accused the party chairman of moving around and using the party organ to solicit support and votes for Abraham ahead of the party primary election slated for September 3.

NewsWireNGR recalls that some aggrieved party members led by Bar. Tolu Babaleye and Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye had locked up the party secretariat preventing the party chairman in the state, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke, from entering the office.

A former president of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN),  faulted the endorsement of one of the aspirants by the National Leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the party primary fixed for September 3. Akeredolu, who was the ACN candidate during the 2012 gubernatorial election in the state spoke on a radio programme on Adaba FM in Akure, saying Tinubu has lost his position as the leader of the party.

Already, the state executive members have removed Kekemeke over these allegations, but the national body said it is not aware of Kekemeke’s removal.
