Blogger And Buhari Supporter, Abubakar Sidique Arrested By EFCC #FreeAbusidiq

The social media is agog Monday following reports that one of Nigeria’s renowned blogger, Abubakar Sidique popularly called Abusidiq has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Sidique who ironically happens to be a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC was said to have been picked up from his home according to online reports..

Tanko Yankassai wrote, “I’ve just confirmed that @MrAbuSidiq has been arrested by EFCC for making a post about them. Totally unacceptable & they MUST#FreeAbusidiq”.

No official reason has been given at the time of writing this story but bloggers have tweeted that the publisher of Abusidiqu.com was arrested for posting a story on the fraud in EFCC.

But the hashtag #FreeAbusidiq has been trending on twitter as bloggers intensify calls for the freedom for Abubakar Sidique.
