APC National Chairman, John Oyegun Steps In To Settle The Ongoing “Katakata” In Kano Between Kwankwaso And Ganduje

National Chairman of the APC, Oyegun has stressed the need to resolve the crisis fueled by the strained relationship between the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the incumbent, Abdulahi Ganduje .Oyegun said a quick resolution as become necessary because the crisis portends great danger to the party at both the state and national levels.

He stated this while receiving a delegation from Kano state at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja Tuesday.

Speaking on the growing tension between the former Governor , Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman maintained that the development must not be allowed to blossom and said that it was a great disservice to the ruling party for anyone or group to stir up internal wars within the Party at a time like this.

Oyegun also disclosed that the party has set up a team of three; working to restore the broken down relationship between senator Kwankwaso and governor Ganduje. He called on the delegation from the state chapter of the party to assist the party’s national leadership to restore amity in the state.

The delegation announced that APC Kano chapter has appointed new caretaker chairman, organizing secretary just as they suspended the former APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa and APC Organizing Secretary Sanusi Sirajo kwankwanso who are said to be loyalists of senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. The Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the APC Kano State Chapter, Bashir Yahaya Karaye confirmed this to the APC National Chairman John Odigie Oyegun and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) .

Kano state publicity secretary of the party, who read out the resolution of the party had earlier described as a show of shame, Senator Musa Kwakwaso’s attitude at the burial of the mother of Governor Ganduje, accusing him of allegedly converting the venue of the burial to a political campaign ground.

Karaye who lamented the lingering internal crisis of the APC Kano chapter said to the national chairman that “I want to submit to you the decision that Umar Haruna Doguwa ( Chairman APC Kano state) and Sanusi Sirajo Kwankwaso ( Organising Secretary APC Kano) are relieved of their positions as Chairman and Organizing Secretary respectively. Accordingly, Hon. Abdullahi Abbas has been appointed as Caretaker Chairman, while Ahmed Muhammad speaker, the Assistant Organizing Secretary has been appointed as Acting Organising secretary respectively.

He also confirmed that “the unanimous decision to relieve these two officials was endorsed by more than 2/3 of the Executive committee of the Kano APC and the report of which we are presenting to the National Secretariat for deserving necessary action.

Karaye also stated categorically to the APC NWC that the two officials by the acts they committed have lost the confidence of the leadership and members of the party. He described their action as ignominous , a betrayal of trust and confidence and sheer act of disloyalty to the party ethics of discipline, unity and cohesiveness. ‘For these negative traits they can no longer be accepted to hold any positions of responsibility and leadership let alone worthy of being trusted by any party member,’ he said.

The delegations which was led by the senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibrin and elders of the party comprised elected senators from Kano, federal house representatives, state Assembly members, commissioners, local government chairman and councilors from the state.
