More Trouble For PDP As Party Chieftains, Wabara, Shagari, Juta, Others Ask Sheriff To Resign

Some stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have asked the party’s new national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to resign.

Sheriff was sworn in last Tuesday, as the party’s national chairman to replace Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu who resigned on May 20, last year.

Addressing a press conference Sunday at Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, a former senate president, Senator Adolphus Wabara, former minister of water resources and former deputy governor of Sokoto State Muktar Shagari and former governor of the defunct Gongola State, Ambassador Wilberforce Juta who represented PDP Rescue Group insisted that Sheriff must throw in the towel on ground that his name was not among the list of nominees sent from the North-east.

Others at the press conference were former minister of state for power, Mohammed Wakil, PDP deputy national legal adviser, Barrister Maidugu, former minister of environment John Ode, Ambassador Esther Audu, Dr. Akilu Indabawa, foundation member of the PDP Dr. Bitrus Pogu, former chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Alhaji Kabiru Shitu among others.
