Just In: Family Of Former Customs Boss, Dikko Held Hostage As Security Ofiicials Invade His Jabi Home

Security operatives in two loaded trucks on Friday, besieged the house of former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Mr Abdullahi Inde Dikko, on Ahmed Musa Street, Jabi, Abuja.

Sources tell NewsWireNGR that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrived the house of the former customs boss in Toyota Hiace trucks with registration numbers RSH 555 AB and BWA 645 GA to search the home of the foremr customs chief.

The family members of the former Customs boss are currently been held hostage as no one is allowed to either enter or leave the house as Inde who resigned his position shortly after Buhari took over was said to be out of the country.

The reason for the search of Dikkos’s residence by security operatives is however not yet clear but the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu had druing the week, said that more influential people will be arrested soon.

According to him, “more influential Nigerians are on the radar of the EFCC and, in the coming weeks, they would have their days in court and Nigerians will be kept fully abreast of the results of the Commission’s investigations”.

Mr. Magu made this assertion in Abuja on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at a meeting with online media practitioners and broadcast media managers.

He stated that the essence of the meeting was to solicit media support and understanding to deepen the fight against fraud, corruption and economic crimes. He asked for advice and suggestions in effectively propagating the war against graft.

“Apart from bringing corrupt public officers to justice, we are determined, in line with the stance of the current administration, to send an unmistakable message to everyone, that no Nigerian shall be regarded as being above the law or treated as a sacred cow as far as the fight against corruption is concerned.

It would be recalled that Dikko who is from Katsina State became Comptroller-General of Customs on August 17, 2009, resigned his appointment in August, 2015, four months into President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
