Akwa Ibom Denies Reports That DSS Officials Found Weapons & Cash In The Govt House

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udo, has debunked reports that officials of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) found weapons and cash in the government house.

Udo, in an interview with the Daily Times on Saturday afternoon, described reports that the security operatives found a large cache of arms and hard currency as “absolutely untrue.”

He said: “Yes, the DSS officials searched the guest house section of the Government House, but there was no issue of discovery of any weapon or foreign currency. The report is the figment of imagination of those peddling it.”
