Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, August 3, 2015 issued a stern directive to the auditor general of the federation that all outstanding audit queries be resolved within 30 days. The President has also instructed the auditor general to make sure that going forward, every arising audit query should be put to bed in 24 hours.

The President’s directives were confirmed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu.

“On his watch, President Buhari wants to see firm action against those who violate extant financial regulations, not the prevarications and shenanigans that went on in the past in the form of endless probes and public inquiries,” Shehu said.
