President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to meet with Governors of 36 States tomorrow to address the dire economic troubles of the issue of unpaid civil servant workers across the country. The crisis has gradually led to a collapse of the Nigerian economy..
State governments not paying workers has been a major issue in recent months, most notoriously in Osun State where workers have
been without pay for months.
This meeting was called after an appeal by the 36 State Governors for a Presidential intervention into the empty accounts and
inability to pay civil and State servants. The focus of the meeting will be the sourcing of funds to enable the affected States to pay their debts.
