CSO Coalition, Stop Impunity Nigeria Campaign Has Made A Freedom Of Information Request Making Public Assets Declared By @MBuhari And @ProfOsinbajo

The Stop Impunity Nigeria Campaign has asked the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau to make available to it the asset declaration forms submitted to the Bureau by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo last week.

In an application made pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 and delivered to the office of the Bureau’s chairman on Monday, June 1, 2015, the Campaign, comprising the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), Community Life Project (CLP), Human Development Initiative (HDI), and Media Rights Agenda (MRA), is specifically asking to be given copies of the documents in the custody of the Bureau with respect to the asset declaration of thepresident and his vice president

Documents requested for by the group include “The Assets Declaration Form submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau by General Muhammadu Buhari on May 28, 2015 or thereabout in accordance with Section 140(1) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

“The Assets Declaration Form submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau by Professor Yemi Osinbajo on May 28, 2015 or thereabout in accordance with Section 142(2) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Also, the Campaign said it expected to receive the documents within the seven days stipulated by the Freedom of Information Act.
