Breaking: Court Orders NDLEA To Vacate Buruji Kashamu’s Residence

Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos,  has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) officials to vacate the residence of Prince Buruji Kashamu in Lekki, Lagos.

Giving the order on Tuesday, Justice Buba said the statusquo be maintained.

It would be recalled that Senator-elect Kashamu had been under house arrest since Saturday morning, when anti-narcotic agents secured his property. It was reported that Mr. Kashamu had threatened to commit suicide, rather than follow the NDLEA officials, under arrest.

The NDLEA had said Mr. Kashamu was detained to ensure he appears in court to face extradition proceedings on Monday.

The Ogun state lawmaker-elect is wanted by United States authorities for alleged drug related offences.

Despite the house arrest, the NDLEA failed to take Mr. Kashamu to court on Monday.

The matter has subsequently been adjourned till? 4th of june?.
