Nigeria’s Beach Eagles team, on Wednesday defeated their Egyptian counterparts, 4-1 at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex in Seychelles; as they close in qualification for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

It was the second group game for the Sand Eagles and the Egyptians in the 2015 Caf Beach Soccer Championship in Seychelles, and the Nigerian team proved a handful for the North Africans.

The Egyptians though held their own in the opening period which ended goalless but the Sand Eagles revved their engines into life in the second period by going one goal up.

In the third and final quarter of the game the Super Sand Eagles scored three times to blow apart any kind of resistance from the Egyptians with Emeka Ogbonna helping himself with a couple of goals while Abu Azeez and Isiaka Olawale put gloss on the outcome of the contest.

Egypt though managed to get one back but it proved only elementary as Nigeria have now taken pole position in Group A ahead of the two other teams, Ivory Coast and Seychelles.

Earlier in their opening fixture, Nigeria defeated Seychelles 10-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Brace from Emeka Ogbonna, Bartholomew Igbenegbu and Abu Azeez plus strikes from Victor Tale, Taiwo Adams and Emmanuel Ohwoferia were all the Super Sand Eagles needed to breeze aside the hosts in the 11-goal thriller played at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex, Roche Caiman.

Nigeria now has six maximum points form their two games and will play Cote d’Ivoire later today, for a 100 percent group stage record.
