Muslim Candidate Beats Christian <----- Nigerians Blast @CBNNews Over Headline (READ)

by Musa Abdullahi
Well it seems the headline reporting Nigeria’s elections as written by America’s Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) offends nigerians as they’ve accused the Network for promoting Religious Bigotry.
The Christian Network in its headline casting identified President Goodluck Jonathan and Christian and General Muhammadu Buhari as Muslim. Though the two candidates are actually of the said different religious beliefs but the headline elicited uproar.
The story written reads, “The party of former military dictator Muhammadu Buhari is celebrating their candidate’s victory in Nigeria’s presidential election.”
“The news comes as Boko Haram’s brutal jihad on the nation has exacerbated relations between Christians and Muslims.”
“Over the weekend, extremists killed 41 people, including a legislator, and scared hundreds of people from polling stations in the northeastern Nigeria.”
Most Nigerians who condemned the story insisted that not only Muslims voted for the President Elect, Christians also voted for General Buhari..
