The All Progressive Congress governorship candidate in Kebbi state, Senator Atiku Bagudu has, on behalf of all APC candidates in the state, donated the sum of N5million to victims of the Koko market fire.
Bagudu made the donation when he visited the district head of Koko in Koko/Besse Local Government in the state, where more than 400 shops and stalls with goods worth over N60 million were last week destroyed by fire at the market.
He assured the people that he would give the option of first refusal to Koko when reconstructing markets and parks if elected into office. He also said those involved in Permanent Voters Card (PVC) racket are enemies of democracy and called on the electorate to guard their cards jealously.
The district head of Koko, Alhaji Garba Salisu Koko, who handed over the donation to chairman of the market association, Alhaji Liman Danmaliki Koko, assured that it would be judiciously distributed.
