Aregbesola Declared Winner Of Osun Governorship Election By Tribunal

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has been declared winner of last governorship election.

Justice Elizabeth Ipejime made the declaration on Friday today at the High Court in Osogbo, Osun State.

Aregbesola defeated PDP’s Senator Iyiola Omisore during the polls with 392, 284 votes to 292, 742 votes.

The Tribunal led by Justice Ipejime rejected allegations of over-voting; says no evidence that O’Yes corps was used as poll clerks.

Senator Omisore  after Aregbesola was announced winner of the election had said the outcome did not reflect the wishes of the people of the state, hence his resolve to challenge it at the tribunal.
