Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure has clinched the 2014 CAF African Player of the Year title for the 4th time in a row.
The former Barcelona midfielder, who has now equaled Samuel Eto’o record of 4 CAF Player of the Year awards, was adjudged winner at the glittering awards ceremony just minutes ago.
The votes were cast across the continent by coaches of national teams affiliated with the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Ivory Coast international held off the competition from Super Eagles of Nigeria captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama as well as Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but eventually won the award at the event held at Eko Hotel and Suites.
In his reaction to the feat, the elated Yaya simply said: ‘I thank my fans and CAF organisers, thank you very much.’…
