Ondo APC Alleges Intimidation On Lawmakers Wishing To Join Them

All except one of the members of the Ondo state House of Assembly moved to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with Governor Olusegun Mimiko. However, the All Progressives  Congress  (APC) in the state have alleged that the Governor is intimidating some of the legislators willing to join them.

The state chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke,  who addressed Journalists in Akure said some members of the Assembly who showed interest in the APC were threatened into silence by the Governor

“It has also come to our notice that Governor Mimiko has put in place mechanism to entice, intimidate and subdue the people of Ondo State in the Labour Party and in the PDP who have expressed their willingness to work with our party, APC.”

He said APC will do all in its power to resist the Governor’s attempt to impose a party on the Assembly members.

Reacting, Ondo Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said the accusations were false and only imagined by the APC leaders.

It will be recalled that Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s defection had caused some ripples within PDP with the old members and leaders insisting they won’t adjust the party structure to accommodate Mimiko
