Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, on friday said that the only capacity to rescue Nigeria from its present state is his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Governor Wamakko said this when the Forum of Councillors in the state and a delegation led by the Chairman of Kware Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Zamau, paid him a courtesy visit in his residence in Sokoto.
He said the party was established on justice and equity to meet the yearnings of Nigerians irrespective of religious and tribal affiliations.
“APC was formed on the principles of equity, justice and fairness and came at the right time to rescue Nigeria from the present state of insecurity.
“So, I am calling on Nigerians to move en masse to the APC to bring the desired change in the polity,” Wamakko said.
While urging religious leaders on the need to sensitise voters, he noted that many eligible voters in the state stay at home during election, pointing out that the negative trend undermine the quest for positive change in the country.
“I am calling on our people to avoid these unpatriotic politicians who believe in do or die politics and do not have the interest of the common man at heart”, he said.
“These selfish politicians have forgotten that it is God that gives power to whoever He wishes and want to deceive the electorate to achieve their selfish goals in 2015,”Wamakko added
Governor Wamakko was one of the PDP governors who began the moves for the emergence of the All Progressives Congress though his deputy governor and the Speaker of the House of Representatives who is believed in political circles to be his loyal friend remain in PDP
