2015: Buhari’s Official Declaration Postponed

Former Military Head of State and All Progressives Congress, APC presidential aspirant, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari  has pushed forward the official declaration of his plans to run for President earlier scheduled for October 8. The Vanguard reports.

The postponement became necessary because a  number of Buhari’s close associates were out of the country for the Islamic pilgrimage to the Saudi Arabia and the and the nearness of the event to the Adamawa State gubernatorial bye election, scheduled for October 11

Alhaji Umaru Dhembo, a top member of the Campaign office said
“Yes it is true but we have not yet confirmed the new date but it will be after the Adamawa election.”

“With Adamawa election with our experience with Ekiti, we do not want our people to be blocked as they did in Ekiti,” he said.
Other sources in the Buhari campaign also spoke of the determination of the aspirant not to be a distraction to the collective effort of the party to ensure victory for the APC in the election.
