Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111, has urged politicians in the country to stop the campaign of calumny against opponents ahead of the 2015 elections.
He challenged governments at all levels to redouble their efforts towards tackling the problems of unemployment in the country.
This was contained in his sallah message to the Muslim ummah in his palace in Sokoto on saturday, the monarch said politicians should fear God and desist from abusing opponents so as to ensure peaceful electioneering campaigns in the country.
“Politicians should fear God and realise that He gives power to whoever He wishes. So, we don’t want violence during campaigns”. The monarch said
