Former coach of Nigeria’s senior female football team (Super Falcons), Ntiero Effiom is no more. He died on Tuesday in Cross River state after he suffered a stroke.
Effiom will be fondly remembered for successfully guiding the Falcons to their fifth straight African Women’s Championship title in 2006.
In the past, he had also coached Cross River State-based club, Pelican Stars and he took Nigeria’s U-19 Women’s team to the Canada 2002 World Championship before being made Falcons coach.
He retired from Civil Service last year September.
