Historic! Former Chief Judge Of Lagos State Hands Over To Younger Sister

History was made in Lagos yesterday when the former chief judge of the state, Justice Ayotunde Philips handed over to the new Chief Judge, Justice Funmilayo Atilade. The latter is the younger sister of the former and that’s what really spiced up the occasion.

It is interesting to note that their father, Justice James Williams was also a judge. The Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola  swore in the new Chief Judge of the state yesterday at the  Adeyemi Bero Hall of the state Secretariat in Alausa.

Justice Ayotunde Philip leaves after reaching the retirement age of 65 and her younger sister, Justice Funmilayo Atilade is now the fifth female chief judge of the state.

The new chief judge while giving her acceptance speech promised to give her best in office.
