Life after Suarez has begun for the Anfield giants who managed to overcome a resilient Southampton this afternoon. The Reds defeated Southampton courtesy of goals from Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge in each half
Sterling netted the first goal of the game midway in the first half after latching on to a Jordan Henderson through pass. Southampton restored parity 10 minutes in to the second half through a Nathaniel Clyne finish. Liverpool however defeated the team they raided this summer courtesy of a goal by their target man, Daniel Sturridge in the 79th minute with a superb finish.
Liverpool bought three players from Southampton this summer.
