Colombian midfielder, James Rodriguez won the World Cup Golden boot, an award for the player with the most goals at the tournament. He could not receive the award after the World Cup final because his country had crashed out before then.
Well, the new Real Madrid boy has now been handed his golden boots at a ceremony in the Spanish Capital. His volley against Uruguay was voted the best goal of the tournament on FIFA.com but the 23-year-old said he preferred the one he scored against Japan.
“I’m proud because it’s a dream and I hope to be able to win more. I think I’m at the ideal club to do that,”
“Everyone on the team is an excellent person. It is a tight group and we hope to win titles, which is what the club wants. I’m happy.”
“Personally I preferred the one against Japan.”
James was closely followed on the goal chart by German, Thomas Muller who had five goals and the likes of Robin Van Persie, Lionel Messi and Neymar who had four goals apiece.
