Abuja Airport Shuts For 30 Hours

Contrary to reports that the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria is shutting down the Abuja airport for three days, FAAN in a statement clarified it’s decision to maintain the runway.
Yakubu Dati, General Manager, Corporate Communications, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja will be closed for maintenance work for 30hrs (12 midnight on Sat Jul 5, to reopen 6am on Monday July 7, 2014).
Airline operators have been informed about the plans to allow for maintenance of the runway and some of the airlines are said to have diverted their operations to neighboring Kaduna airport through saturday and sunday.
The airport authority urges travelers to note that the closure is for 30hrs only and NOT three days.
