The Nigerian government says, the Abuja Mall bomb attack was recorded in the Wuse District of Abuja on Wednesday afternoon killing at least 19 persons while 52 others were taken to various hospitals for treatment. Newswirengr eyewitness account say 32 persons were killed but it seems the government produced it’s own numbers.
According to Emergency Agencies that arrived the Scene minutes shortly after the Explosion, at least 41 vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.
Both the dead and injured victims were taken to National Hospital, Maitama General Hospital, Wuse General Hospital, federal Staff Hospital and Turkish Hospital, according to the statement issued by the Nigerian Government’s Information Centre.
All the security agencies have been deployed to the area and have cordoned off the scene while mop up activities were carried out.
Although no persons or group have claimed responsibility for the attack which happened at a popular and normally crowded shopping plaza where several of such malls are located known as EMAB Plaza, a militant group is suspected to be behind it.
The plaza is also located opposite Usman bin Affan Mosque at the Wuse 2 where some worshippers were also affected.
