Police officers have been withdrawn from the palace of the emir of Kano according to reports reaching us. The state capital has been tensed following the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Former and Suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Sources from the Presidency had Wednesday said the Nigerian police had been ordered to arrest the newly-crowned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, on fraud-related charges stemming from his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Since the new Emir of Kano was crowned, he has not been at the Palace as it has been under lock and key as a results of the pockets of protest that followed shortly after he was announced Emir.
