Mr Habila Inshi, the Director of Personnel Management (DPM), Keana Local Government Council, Nasarawa State, on Thursday advised Nigerians to shun rumour mongering in order to achieve peaceful co-existence.

Inshi gave the advice in Keana at a joint meeting with the management and the staff of the local government council.

According to him, “most conflicts in parts of the country are attributable to selfishness and rumour mongering”.

He called on Nigerians to fear God in their dealings with others and advised the citizens to learn to co-exist peacefully in spite of tribal and religious differences.

Inshi urged the different communities in the area to avoid anything that would portray them in bad light.

“God has given the people of Nasarawa State a governor who has the interest of his people at heart, hence the need for all to give him the needed support to enable him to deliver on his transformational agenda.”

He, however, warned the local government workers against partisan politics, adding that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria only guaranteed the workers to exercise their franchise through voting the candidates of their choice in any election.

The director urged them to adhere strictly to the civil service rules and regulations and advised the staff to be punctual, dedicated, shun absenteeism and rumour mongering, for the overall development of the country.

The meeting was attended by traditional titled holders, security agencies and staff of the council.
