Nine out of eleven members of the NWC present at a meeting summoned by President Jonathan had voted for him at that meeting to step down.

Party members who do not want their names mentioned say Tukur may use the opportunity of the meeting to appeal to the NWC members for reconciliation while others insisted that Tukur would use the opportunity of the meeting to resign.

During the last week meeting that passed a vote of no confidence on Tukur, members said they have lost total confidence in him and stressed that Tukur was running a one man show without carrying them along.
