APC Alleges Clampdown On Party Leaders Days To Osun Election
Hon. Yemi Oke, a leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Obokun Local Government is alleged to have been arrested by “Special Forces” from Abuja led by local People’s Democratic Party leaders at about 2.30 am today.
Kunle Oyatomi, Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy APC, Osun Chapter in a statement claimed that the “Special Forces” had earlier in the night visited his Ilare-Ijesa home to arrest him but he was not found.
According to an account he gave, the PDP leaders then led the special force to his Osogbo residence where he was picked up and hounded into detention.
He said, “Up until the release of this statement, the fate of Hon. Oke remains unknown while no security agency has explained the reason for the arrest and detention of Hon. Oke.”
We were unable to reach security agencies to confirm the arrest of the party leaders as at the time of filing this story, as soon as we do, we shall keep our readers updated.
Saturday, August 9th is the day for Osun Governorship Elections and the battle will be between incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the APC and PDP’s Iyiola Omisore.
